June 18, 2008. Summer starts in three days. We’ve had
90-degree heat, heavy rains and bouts of blight and mold this year, but
the garden is still alive and just starting to produce (planted the
garden in mid April this year). We’ve enjoyed cucumbers and zucchini
these last two weeks. Next up are the tomatoes and bush beans. |
![]() The morning of June 18th - 60 days after starting the garden. |
![]() Planted about two weeks ago. Basil in front and an experiment with small potatoes in back. |
![]() Hmm. It’s crowded up here. |
![]() The empties are “supposed”to be filled with bell peppers. The two flanking in back are strawberries. Left, front is yellow squash. |
![]() Roma tomatoes started from seed. |
![]() Store bought tomato plants - they’re almost 7-feet tall. |
![]() Flipside. The tomatoes and cucumbers take over the patio again! |
![]() Dwarf orange tree - flowering and fruiting since February ...and still flowering. |
![]() Dwarf orange tree - representative fruit. |
![]() Maybe it wasn’t a good idea to grow zucchini in pots. But she’s still going strong. |
![]() The only thing that grew in the backyard - some bush beans. Click here for more pictures of our garden | top | return to photo album index | |
